On March 27th, 2010 Big Joe Burke and his talented twangsters, Gord "Gorehound" Smithers, Pat Darcus, Mark Gruft and special guest Rob Blackburn will be performing at The Russian Hall to help raise funds for Templeton Mini School, in East Vancouver, B.C.All proceeds from this benefit will go towards helping fund Templeton Mini-School programs, including striving to ensure that ALL children have the opportunity to participate in educational field trips/activities. Funds will also go toward the purchase of computers and equipment.
As you're probably aware, government cuts to education have really been taking a toll on the quality of education local schools are able to provide for students. It's really important that we all step up to the plate, and strive to help future generations benefit from a quality education.
Joining Big Joe Burke in this endeavor will be Vancouver's Texas-style Roadhouse Country & Honky-Tonk Rock'n Roll band, Wichita Trip - with their new addition: the lovely and talented Miss. Barb Wilkins-Lindsay (BoomChix).
There's gonna' be a whole lot of foot-stompin', two-steppin', hip shakin' and a twistin' fun-fun-fun!! going down at The Russian Hall on this night.
The roof is being especially strapped down to the Hall for the occasion, because with all that talent filling the room with BIG beautiful, countrified, rockin' music there is the risk that it could not only be raised - but blown right away!!
One things for sure, the audience sure will be.
So come on down and help Big Joe Burke and Wichita Trip raise money for this most worthy cause!!
Cover charge is $15 (think of the children...)
The Russian Hall is located at 600 Campbell Street in Vancouver, B.C.
There will be beers , wines and soft drinks.
There will also be door prizes and a 50/50 Draw.
